Under the Avon Pier

Waking up for sunrise is always a risk.  You set the alarm for some unreasonable hour, crawl out of bed to the coffee pot, and stumble down to the beach, hoping for relatively clear skies.  But, many mornings, the skies are grey and the sun is nowhere to be seen.  Two mornings in a row, the sun was hidden under a blanket of thick clouds.  Not to waste a photo opportunity, I decided to shoot under the Avon Pier.  The rickety pilings seemed to sway back and forth with the motion of the sea, the waves messy and broken by the high winds.
