Sunrise avon fishing pier outer banks North Carolina

Some mornings the sunrise seems too bright, even for itself.  On this morning at the Avon Fishing Pier, the clear sky was virtually colorless as the sun rose so brightly it blinded even the birds.  Photography is challenging at times like this, the contrast is so strong and the light so harsh.  But the pier provided the perfect subject to back with the brilliant sunlight.
