Now that we’re friends, call me Jenny 💛

Born and raised in Virginia Beach, I now wander the shores of Hatteras Island and the mountains surrounding Seattle with my camera in hand. I believe in sandy feet, messy hair, and celebrating each moment. You’ll usually find me outside chasing waves or climbing mountains, but I’m just as happy engrossed in a book, baking bread, or sharing a home-cooked meal.

My love for the outdoors is the heart of my photography. I feel most inspired when the calm and quiet of nature surrounds me, allowing me to express that connection through my lens. I photograph landscapes, nature, and travel across digital, film, and instant formats, each offering its own way of telling a story.

Beyond documenting a scene, I aim to invite you to join me in the moment. My favorite subjects are the overlooked details and simple beauties that might otherwise be forgotten. My goal is to create images that leave you filled with wonder, curiosity, and a desire to join the adventure.

Explore my photographs and moments of wonder —you may even find echoes of your own journey within them.

How it all started

Since 2003, I’ve worked across a wide range of genres—from the energy of commercial branding and sports to the technical precision of real estate and portraiture. For years, I traveled the art show circuit, learning firsthand what it takes to create a print that truly connects with an audience.

Along the way, I realized my greatest joy is helping other photographers find the confidence to capture their own moments. I spent years navigating the "long way" through trial and error; now, I use that foundation to help photographers find a more direct path to the photos they want to create.

I’ve mentored over 300 photographers, helping them move past technical hurdles and into their own creative "why." Whether we are diving into a beginner lesson or exploring the soul of your work at The Saltwater Retreat, my goal is the same: to share everything I’ve learned so you can create the images you’re dreaming of.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I love the sun; particularly rising or setting over the ocean.
I love backyard birding and long walks in the woods.
I love swimming in the ocean, the salt stinging my skin.
I love to hike to the furthest trail because it has the best view.
I love a home cooked meal, eaten on your lap and followed with a bowl of fresh churned gelato.
I love a cold rosé on a hot summer day or a craft beer by the campfire.
I love long dinners with friends and family, followed by a board game.
I love finding the best pizza in every city, sipping a glass of spicy red alongside.
I'm love riding with the windows open, wild, hair tucked under a ball cap, flip flops discarded under sandy feet.
I'm never happier than when I'm staring at a beautiful view.
And I'm up for almost anything, as long as I can carry my camera.

“You must learn to live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.”
