12 Months on Film: June Beach Days on the Instax Wide
I started June in California and ended it in North Carolina. In between, I started a lot of rolls of film, but I didn’t finish any other than packs of instant. I was a little more concerned with catching waves than capturing waves during our trip to the Outer Banks this summer 😝
Here are a few things I noticed this month:
I love the wide format, but getting straight horizon lines is even more challenging with the wide format. And you can’t straighten a photo in post that has a frame around it.
Don’t rush the scans. I scanned these quickly using an app on my photo and then left them sitting on my desk at the surf shack. When I got back to the west coast, I realized I’d botched the scans. I’ll have to redo them in the fall with more attention to the edges.
