The Dune Fence and a Walk on the Beach

No words can express the depth of her contentment as she walks along the beach. ~ Suzy Toronto

The sand was cool beneath my feet, reminding me that despite the surprisingly warm day, we were in the depths on winter.  You'd probably be surprised to hear that I love winter.  Don't get me wrong, I don't love winter temperatures.  But, living in Virginia Beach, we get a number of warm days in the winter, so that helps balance out the cold.  My favorite part of winter is the quiet.  The still.  The moments of reflection.  The days are so much shorter and yet they don't feel rushed at all.  There is more time for serenity.  More time for long, quiet walks.
