Crabtree Falls Campground is one of my favorite spots in Virginia.  They have the perfect camp sites right on the Tye River.  The sites are a short walk from the car, but far enough that you feel immersed in nature.  When a back country night isn't an option, you can still feel like you're in the wilderness.
