Wildflowers at Pfieffer Big Sur State Park

Pfieffer Big Sur State Park lies in the heart of Big Sur but is one of the few parks in the area which take the attention away from the coast. With many of the trails still closed due to mudslides and devastating fires, we chose the Buzzard’s Roost trail from the short list of options.

The highlight of this trail was the unexpected wildflowers. As we wound through the wooded trail, varieties of wildflowers peeked out from their hiding place asking to be noticed. And while the view from the top was certainly beautiful, I enjoyed revisiting the flowers on the trip back down.
