When I mentioned to my photographer friends that I was buying a macro lens, most had the same reply.  They told me that they find such peace shooting macro, slowing down, working on something so small.  I wasn't sure how on earth I would understand that. And then the Nikon 105 arrived, and I spent some time walking through the backyard, looking for tiny details that caught my eye.  Before I knew it, I felt calm rather than tense, serene rather than stressed.  My friends were right, as they often are.
