Expansive Views on the Hike to Mount Dickerman

View of Mount Baker volcano in the distance and the rocky ridge of Big Four Mountain from the Mount Dickerman hiking trail in Washington.

The view north from the Mount Dickerman summit, where the jagged ridges give way to the massive, snow-covered form of Mount Baker. It was wild how the mountain appeared to be floating in the atmospheric haze.

Mount Dickerman sits along Washington’s Mountain Loop Highway. It offers a steep and steady climb that rewards every bit of effort with one of the most expansive panoramas in the North Cascades. Covering roughly 4,000 feet over 4 miles, this hike is a leg burner and you certainly earn your beer. While we had overcast skies during our hike, the cloud level was high enough to allow for views far into the distance offering incredible views of Mount Baker and Glacier Peak.
