Backpacking Yellow Aster Butte: Sunsets and Starlight at the Best Campsite in the North Cascades

When friends and family come to visit in search of a night spent camping in the wild, our destination of choice is Yellow Aster Butte. An incredible hike in Washington’s North Cascades, Yellow Aster offers epic views, fields of wildflowers, and alpine lakes perfect for cooling off before climbing in your tent.

Our most recent adventure there included a great day on the trail, an epic sunset, and a sky full of stars. It was the perfect way to show our Virginia family what we love about the Pacific Northwest.
