Winter at Whistler Olympic Park on Film

Weโ€™ve come to love making the cross border drive into Canada to ski at Whistler Olympic Park. Miles (kilometers!) of impeccably groomed trails wind through the woods of this beautiful nordic facility. An added bonus is the wonderful nordic center, a huge, glass walled building where I can hunker down to warm up after my time on the trails, while Forrest continues to ski for a few hours longer.

On our last trip the park, I made sure to snap a few photographs on my Contax t2 and Kodak Ultramax 400 film. I love how the contrast of the film chemistry rendered the snowy images, capturing the atmosphere and conditions perfectly. The film grain only seems to highlight the cloud cover and the falling snow. Film has such a way of making moments feel even more powerful than they felt at the time.
