Exploring Bass Harbor and Pretty Marsh on Mount Desert Island in Maine

At the conclusion of the Styled Life Retreat, a few friends and I set off to explore the coast of Maine. Mount Desert Island is the largest island off the coast. While better known as the home of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, MDI has many small towns and villages which are equally as charming. We spent an afternoon exploring the west and south sides of the island, visiting Bass Harbor lighthouse and Pretty Marsh. I had been looking forward to our visit to the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, but I was disappointed with the conditions and photo opportunities. This is a perfect example as to why the best photographs photographers produce come from locations they visit over and over.
